An Endoscopy may include a Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy or a Gastroscopy & Colonoscopy together. These procedures allow a doctor to inspect and observe the inside of your digestive system, without the need for major surgery. 

The inspection involves an endoscope, which is a long, flexible tube with a lens at one end and a camera at the other. The endoscope is inserted into your body and slowly makes its way along your digestive tract, looking for signs of damage or unusual growths.

It is recommend that everyone over the age of 45 has a routine Colonoscopy every 10 years. You may also require an Endoscopy if you have increased risk factors, are exhibiting ongoing or unexplained symptoms (e.g. bleeding or bloating), or have a family history of colon cancer.
