A hernia occurs when an organ pushes through the muscle or tissue wall. Most hernias occur in your groin or abdomen. Hernia surgery allows your Surgeon to push the organ or herniated tissue back into its right position, then using stitches or surgical mesh, the organ or tissue is held in the right place.

Not all hernias require immediate treatment, however most eventually do since they usually worsen over time. Hernias can cause unpleasant symptoms, like pressure, discomfort or pain.
